I have, and I've even seen people post that very sentence on this forum. It annoys me to no end.
The same applies to using double negatives.

When I saw 'Americans' my first thought was "Where?"
Don't get me wrong,Australians love Americans(especially the accent) individually,as visitors; we think you're quaint. We also find the cultural and geographic ignorance hilarious. Most visiting Americans think they're in Europe.
Sadly, few Australians actually visit the US.They're far too afraid, of being shot in the head over a parking dispute, the American police, and worry an a lot about what your loopy government will do next. Most Aussies think of the US as being like a petulant ten year old with a loaded Uzi.
ME? Yes, of course I've been to the US,several times,on my way to or from Canada.I try to tell people their perceptions of the US are exaggerated,to no avail. They just point out Dubya, the Iraq War, Sarah Palin and what passes for a health system in the US.

This exact thing happened here at the ER where I work just a few days ago-- guy was brought in, shot five times and died-- over a parking space at his apartment complex.

Quote:The British are the second largest per capita tea consumers in the world, with each person consuming on average 2.1 kg per year.[9] The popularity of tea dates back to the 19th century when India was part of the British Empire, and British interests controlled tea production in the subcontinent. It was, however, first introduced in Britain by the Portuguese Catherine of Braganza, queen consort of Charles II of England in the 1660s and 1670s. As tea spread throughout the United Kingdom people started to have tea gardens and tea dances. These would include watching fireworks or a dinner party and dance, concluding with a nice evening tea. The tea gardens lost value after World War II but tea dances are still held today in the United Kingdom
Trivial facts is fun
