Ooooh, a new hobby (so to speak)!

CL, you might want to consider making your polls public so that we can see at a glance where people vote.

Is everything black and white to you CL?
Your polls are so either/or. There's some middle ground, you know.
Socially liberal, economically moderate

That's what the option "other" is for. :-)
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Very much to the left when it comes to social issues or civil liberties. But also for a free market, as long as it is a market and not some corporate playground dragging us down.
As far as politics go, I tend to vote for the Green part or the Social Democrats. Not because I consider them great, but because they're usually the lesser evil. To tell the truth, I can't remember when I last voted for something and not tactically to prevent a bigger evil from happening.

Me too. I'm 38; I've been voting in the US for twenty years, and I honestly can't remember a time that wasn't the case, at least on a national or state level. Locally, I've been excited about some people I've voted for (Dave Peiser lost to Darryl Issa for Congress; fuck me. Sorry: tangent), but voting is like jury duty to me. I really don't get excited about it.

I don't know these people. Usually, if a particular candidate doesn't make a complete ass of him or herself, they're not newsworthy where I live. The locals are also not covered on the American sites and news portals I tend to visit.
Come to think of it, the last time I voted for someone was in our presidential elections in 2004 and 2010. Heinz Fischer is one of the select few politicians, who have never been involved in a major scandal and who's a mild mannered social democrat. He's also open about his agnosticism, which didn't prevent him from getting elected twice. The position isn't very powerful in my country. It's more symbolic, but the office also grants some checks and balances to make sure a government isn't going against the constitution.

I see everything...

Leftie, but with a soft spot for GMOs and nuclear power
