Welcome to the forums Thom.
Fr0d0, you don't have to be absolutely sure to disbelieve a load of claims that have no support EvF
Thom said he now "really knew" - and I'm asking for a more detail on that.
Just because you're not absolutely sure doesn't mean everyone else has to be Of course you're talking your impossible evidence nonsense again.. tut tut!
I'm not getting into an EvsF arguement with you here though fr0d0.
I apologize, I missed him saying he "really knew", not that I'm sure he's being absolutist about that. EvF
Yeah well I was interested in what he did mean. No hurt feelings bud
In my own mind and body I know what I really like and what I perceive to like. I really like the taste of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches; I've eaten many over the years and know that I really like them. I have not experienced any of the spiritual awakenings that others have had, nor have I experienced any of the wonderous "works of god on earth" either. I really know for myself that god and related belief systems are not for me. However, there are no absolutes. Given verifiable evidence that a "supreme being" or "force" is controlling everything then I would reconsider my statement.
What if verifiable evidence was contrary to the nature of that force or being? If you deny that possibility are you like others here who call that the philosophy of science?

Ooh, spiritual awakenings over a PB&J? ^_^ That would be... interesting ^_^
What if the nature of that force or being was itself impossible? And welcome to the forums, 513 Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day
PB&J as in Peanut Butter and Jam??
One of my favourite things to spread on toast ever!! Yum. And once again, welcome Thom. EvF
Thx again......I think.
