Yes, I know I'm not staff, but I do know it's a common misconception. Hammy, you know this. He's not being a "douche to you" as a mod. Saying "a mod being a douche to you" makes it sound like he is.

I know it's not relevant but I don't think he's good at his job either (especially considering he claims to have been responsible for a lot of the recent changes to the forum, which are negative changes IMO).

But this is simply my opinion. Clearly the staff as a whole think he's good at being a mod otherwise they wouldn't keep him. Whilst we're being irrelevant I may as well give my opinion.

I didn't say that he needs to act professional as a mod. He's still acting more professional than I did as a mod. Which I'm more than willing to admit. I think I was good at being a mod though. Or at least, not crap at it.

I didn't say you said he needs to act professional. I'm simply pointing out that saying "a mod was a douche to me." Is like saying, "mods are allowed to officially be douches," which I don't recall being the case. Acting as member: douche away. Acting as mod: less douche necessary. It's a nit-picking thing, but I know I hated when people made it sound like I wasn't allowed to be a bitch just because I was staff.

I see that often people think a disbelief in free will is to say that everyone is innocent of their actions.
But in reality, a belief in free will is a way to feel less guilty about judging others who act differently to yourself or who act the same but for different reasons.

Oh yeah I totally get you. As long as you know it's clear I wasn't saying otherwise either. No one has to act more professional as a mod. But they can, if they want to. I never bothered lol. I always try to have maximum freedom as long as I don't break any rules, and for years I've been fine (although unfortunately, more recently, staff have thought I've stepped over the line, despite the fact that I'm the same as I've always been since 2008... but that's another topic).

It seems like the thread is gonna need splitting if the digression keeps going on.

I guess the problem with this thread is it's only active when people either say they're leaving for a bit or when people pop in to ask where so-and-so has been. Well, that's not a problem per se... but you know what I mean. It's not a specially active thread but it's also a permanent thread... so once a digression happens it takes a long while to get back on topic, because it'll only get back on topic when someone either leaves or someone asks where someone has been. I hope that make sense?

I think people miss my key words a lot. Ultimately innocent is not the same as innocent. Ultimately everyone is, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't hold people responsible anyway for the good of all. Or indeed, for the good of a community.

"He's being a douche to me and he merely happens to be a mod, and he'd still be a douche to me if he wasn't a mod." Better?

I'm not angry lol. He insulted me so I insulted him back to try and discourage him from insulting me. In a kind of "How do you like it?" way.

Fair enough
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Fair enough if you aren't interested in it, but if you think what I say is "simple minded" try refuting it.

Actually. Don't lol. You'd be wasting both our times (and we've already been there). I don't want this digression but if we're gonna have it at least don't be randomly rude to me.

I have some extra pacifiers if you need.

I guess you can spend all your life pretending you are not responsible for your actions. I am. For mine.

If disagreeing with your assessments in this bullshit artist joke you pulled is rude to you, it just about shows what i said.

Very well smart guy, you use a computer to post here, a product of Einsteins hated quantum mechanics "god doesn't play dice with the universe", so you can use it to solve 3 equal mass bodies orbiting eatchother.

It should be easy for you mr no free eill. Do tell me the results.

You don't appreciate the complexities of what I am actually saying.

I've already said that I don't reject compatabilist accounts of moral responsibility and free will.

This statement doesn't appear to make any sense.

This one doesn't seem to have a point to it.

What are you talking about? I can't even make coherent sense of what you're saying to me. Can someone else help me out here?

OOOOOhhhh don't tell Tibs, he might fire me. I need all those hookers and blow.

Also yes, the staff competence is seldom used as an argument against free will or something.
