Like myself and a handful of other women here have repeatedly explained to you, that is not the case. You refuse to believe us, so there's really not much else we can say.

HOW IS THAT NOT THE CASE? 
You keep reaffirming that it's not, yet never provide a valid reason.

I'll give you an example.

When I was a little girl, I loved to dress up.

But my outfits were not what you'd call "cohesive".

I'd "wear" anything that struck my fancy....tinfoil, tablecloths, wrapping paper, whatever.

And one of my favourite things to do was wear my underwear outside my pants

(like a superhero, you see).

Was I aware that I was out in public?  Yes.

This lasted until my mother saw me galavanting around the neighborhood
with my yellow panties outside my blue jeans,
and then my fantasy was brought to a swift and unceremonious end.

But my point:

Did I intend to "send a message" with my outfit?  I suppose so.

But was my message really targeted at the general public?  No.

My message was for the people in my fantasy world.

Did I realize the two were separate?  Fantasy and Reality?  Of course.

Did I give a shit if people in reality didn't like me living my fantasy?    

NOPE.

So you see,

When a woman says she doesn't give a shit what you think of her look,
and says she's just "dressing for herself"

...she is simply doing the grown-up version of playing closet, or playing superheroes.

And in  the grown-up version, she may want to appear as a businesswoman,
or a goth, or like a particular celebrity....or a sexpot.

Maybe she's still playing superheroes...only now her superpowers are sexual in nature....who knows?

It doesn't mean she is crazy or disconnected from reality.

She's just not about to let reality stand in the way of her living her dream, and being who she wants to be.

People dress to exude the person they are in their head.

If that doesn't work for people in reality....too fucking bad.

Mom was able to stop me when I was six years old.

But as soon as I was old enough to decide to wear what I wanted,
and pay for it, myself,
I bought fishnet hose and black patent stiletto heels, and corsets.

I don't care what people think of it.


Hopefully that gets the message across.
