The much better question would be, why would any god worthy of it's title even care. An omniscent, omnipotent and eternal being should care about worship by something being much less than an ant colony in comparison?

One of our theist residents made a remark about a "big god" being outside of morality. In it's stupidity that remark also had some involuntary wisdom to it. A "big god" is like the claim of a "big dick". Entirely human, a bully, full of vices. A "great god" wouldn't care about any of it, since it would be beyond him to give a shit.
