Eugenics is the science / biosocial movement that tries to improve the genetic composition of a population. It can be implemented in various ways; through force (i.e. how the Nazis used it), or via progressive means (how we currently do it). Our entire agricultural industry is based on eugenics; we breed animals to create the best candidates for slaughter; we have created crops that are more resilient to disease, and that can grow in far worse conditions than their ancestors did.
The point is, if eugenics really is a Nazi idea, we have a lot to thank the Nazi's for. I *really* don't want that to be the case...
