I look forward to telling people I am cisgender. They will be all, "What does that mean?" and I'll quack, "Well, it means I am not transgender; I am actually the gender that I appear to be and I fill normative gender roles based on my sex." and they will be all, "Huh, what does transgender mean?" then it will get really interesting because I will get to talk about female neurons, banana hating transexuals, and cross-dressing whoopee!
Honestly, though, lucky for me that I was not born into some struggling minority or whatever. Yeah, it is totally flippant, but fuck it, I only got this one life and I aim to live it happily while not worrying too much about the struggles of people outside my sphere of influence. I've learned a lot about other groups of people in my travels and readings and most of them don't want special treatment so much as normal treatment, so that is what I model in my daily life. I think that is the most we can ask of each other.
