U.S. States without the i's.

Oh, that happened once. Then someone else came in and slaughtered them both, and took their land.

Quote:Any war, is a bad war. No matter who wins or loses. To me, even the winners have lost. If you look at all the bodies to bring back. The only winners in war are those who take no part in it.
Like when I play my battle for middle earth or Rise of Nations. If I was going to lose, I'd make sure that my enemies pay a hefty price for their victory.

There are few things in this world scarier than someone with nothing to lose who hates you. People who take part in war can win, though they might weaken themselves in said war to the point that another can come in and take them out with relative ease.

Quote:Remember young one, power never lasts. America has power for now, but it will lose it. Power comes and goes.

This is true... and America's days as a notable power could soon be over.

Quote:Anyway, America can invade and take over countries, but...how many fallen troops do you end up bringing back home? Even small nations are quite troublesome, even for you lot. Being the top worlds power doesn't make you invincible. Just makes you a bigger target.

This is true. The approach is what I primarily criticize about all of america's recent wars... we went in to play the hero... and gained next to nothing from it. Had we gone in and killed just about everyone or relocated [/i]just about everyone[/i], we would have gained a good bit of oil rich land, which could have helped fuel a much larger war effort. Instead of annexing the territory... we "freed" the people from its government. The stupidity in this move really hurts America's possibility of being great.

You are right about making one a bigger target... so many games of settlers of Catan will have one person tear away from all the lesser people, only to have them all team up against that person until one of the lower pointed people wins. Obtain far too much territory, and you will be the talk of the world. Keep your true capabilities quite hidden, and you can make use of them in a single and unexpected crushing sweep. There are sometimes benefits to being a world power... the weaker people all want you on their side.

Quote:Anyway, China is also a world power. With over 300 million battle ready troops. More than the entire U.S population. Try taking on them

This is the truth. I could scarcely understand why they haven't invaded weaker neighbors yet... but they would have the combined might of the UN on their backs in this case, I think. America goes down... and the only other countries that can stand on the same pedestal as China are Russia and India. Other contenders exist of course... but they fall short of the power controlled by these giants.

It would be a bad conflict in the eyes of both China and the US to compete militarily... it would weaken them pointlessly.

Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day
