As repeatedly iterated, it's about teaching people how to think and not what to think.
If I had children and they came to the conclusion that [a version of] god existed by their own investigation and their own thoughts, I'd still disagree but respect their decision (unless they could evidence it to my very low standard that is). This is much better than I or someone else telling them they *must* believe in X or Y, whether that be there is a god or that there isn't. It's not my remit, even as a parent, to tell my children they should and shouldn't believe, only how they can find the tools to decide for themselves.
