HELL

My wife has fairly unorthodox views on Hell. She's a big fan of Rob Bell's book Love Wins, which basically claims that Hell was a garbage dump outside of Jerusalem*, and that Jesus loved to use this metaphor because people would understand it. He claims that everyone goes to heaven, and "hell" is what you make of it (i.e. Hitler realizing that there are Jews and black people there). After enough time, everyone gets over their hangups.

Where do you think, hell comes from? Obviously from the Germanic goddess Hel and her domain. It's nearly the same word in German as well as english, so the connection is rather obvious.
