How do you know there was a civil war in America? Or that Gandhi actually said what he said? If you weren't there, then you depend on the testimony on others, whether it be written or spoken.
Why am I not surprised that you are unaware of the newsreel footage of Gandhi? And I suppose you've never bothered to read his autobiography. And the American Civil War? You can't possibly be serious. There is a mountain -- a fucking mountain -- of documentary evidence of the war (including *gasp* photographs of the aftermath of various battles).
You're going to compare these things to the Gospel accounts?
