Our entire economy is dependent on war. The arms trade, the drug trade, trade sanctions. Everything from the materials used to make our electronics to how cheap our coffee is stems from the many proxy wars and conflicts that we have either participated in or sparked off and the ripples they have sent out there in the big wide world. If such a large portion of the third world wasn't run by dictators willing to subjugate their people and give us fantastic deals on their natural resources you wouldn't be typing on a computer right now. You wouldn't have a nice fridge with nice food in it. You wouldn't have the latest iphone. You wouldn't get paid nearly as much as you do. Those are the spoils of war and I don't see anyone rejecting them.
Thats the plain simple truth which noone wants to deal with and noone would get into office by openly admitting;
Without a war economy you don't get a first world.
