God is imaginary

RE: God is imaginary
Making wishes and praying are different things. Making a wish is a process of putting conceptual desire into mental language, and subjecting that desire to the internal scrutiny that mental language promotes. Praying does not bother me if there is no other hope. Then its merely a issue of emotional comfort in the fact of practical hopelessness. Praying in other circumstances reinforces a superstititon, and promotes double think in those who are otherwise capable of rational thinking. So incorporating superstitious rituals such as praying into a individual's normal personal behavior does bother me.
