I know you're being somewhat tongue in cheek here, but will use it as an example of how decades of PC bullshit affects language. I could never consider calling a blind person crippled, only in PC land could this even possibly make sense. Crippled refers to a condition that affects motor function.
Now along comes 'handicapped' as an a softer less descriptive description that subsumes any number of conditions. After awhile, people will then work in reverse and change the meanings of words like 'crippled' to be synonymous with handicapped. It's this unnecessary sanitizing of language that makes PC so unpalatable.
