Our future is the same as Israel's, whether we like it or not i.e. a high security environment and a big freaking wall on the border.

I don't know where your finger is, but it's not on the pulse of the American electorate. Trump leads a pathetic field of Republicans, the winner of which must face a well-oiled Clinton machine or Sanders, who is sharp as a tack.
Those same voters are the ones who elect Congressmen, but that doesn't always follow Presidential coattails, but does depend on Presidential drawing power to the ballot box.
American public attitudes loom very different when you're a part of that public. Your opinion might be appreciated by some, but it is essentially irrelevant, given your obvious ignorance of the American political process.
