Rape outside their delusional world is whenever a woman or man forces the other into any type of penetration, it doesn't take a penis or a boner to do that. A woman could take an object and stick it in a mans mouth, or in his anus and it would be the same as a man forcing his penis into her vagina. Rape has nothing to do with the sex act itself, it has everything to do with power over another human without their consent. And also what these jerks don't understand because they know nothing about biology is that it is possible to be fearful and not give consent while having an erection. This OP is what idiots think when they get their pop psychology out of a bronze age comic book.
First of all, thanks for calling me a moron and a jerk. You're awesome. Really.
Second, like I said, I know it's still called rape when it's anal penetration with an object, but when i said "I didn't know men could get raped" I was referring to the specific context where a man would get raped by a woman, vaginally. I've said this multiple times now.
Third, I'm not sure why people are getting their panties in a twist and getting so pissed off at me for not having known that. I'm sorry I guess? For... not knowing..., I guess?
Yes because that is far worse than the actual act of rape. Instead of you getting ticked at me for my word choice, how about you consider it cold water on your face. Yes it was harsh, but now you know. My mother was raped, both my biological sisters have been raped, and I was manipulated as a teen into sex with a bully.
FYI when I use the term moron, and jerks, that is aimed at religion in general, and when you look at those three books the roots of the ignorance are glaring. The bible and Koran and Jewish OT as written literature, depict women/girls and children as property. The damage to especially girls and women is not punished any worse than a fine or forced marriage. Now of course the civil west frowns on it, but only because our species natural empathy and better technology and science gave us a better understanding of what a victim really was.
Back when those books were written, the mortality rate was much higher, and the average lifespan was much shorter, combine that with human ignorance as far as comparing it to modern knowledge, it was understandable that humans took the tactic of reproducing as quickly as possible. And men also were presumed to be more important than women back then not understanding that they were not the only contributors to life. Back then girls/women were thought of like fields and male sperm like seeds to plant in a field.
Now again, the ignorance was UNDERSTANDABLE back then, but we know better now.
Victims of rape are not explained by old books, victims of rape are explained by modern biology and psychology. Religious people, even the empathetic left simply fail to understand that the roots of those bad ideas are still words in those books that still cause humans to cling to bad ideas. Now you can chose to focus on my mere words, or you can use this to learn. I think the more we understand life as it is instead of clinging to old books, the more we can reduce things like rape, or even religious bigotry or justifications for religious violence.
A very simple exercise you can do is to pick up your Bible, don't skip over any verse, and when you get to a verse where God condones or commits an act of violence, ask yourself if it would be acceptable today? Now I can tell you why you don't do that, and it is your evolutionary empathy not the book itself.
I do love my species capability of compassion and empathy, even liberal theists, but I don't nor will ever value ignorance, even from liberal theists. The book that you use to justify empathy is still the same book others use to justify being jerks.
