Murder is not conversion. He had an opprotunity to share the gospel and chose to scoff at it. It's unbelievable what he did really..
He had the position many conservative Christians in the US have: "Kill them all and let god sort them out"
And, considering he was following Christian doctrine that had been used in Europe for centuries - persecute the Jews - it seems pretty damned clear he was a Christian.
There's also the fact that he banned the teaching of evolution. Where else do we see that today?
