Excuse me for the inconvenience cato, but I have to admit : the book has its wonders. I think that the people who try to form up links between its verses & scientific phenomenas are not that astray; they give a fun,exciting & sometimes a correct & realistic material to read.
Yes, the Quran is all about the semantics of the verses -in a linguistic fashion-, but even if I disliked this way of coming up with calculations & stuff, I can't judge.

Open your palms : you'll find on your right hand the number (18) & on the left hand the number (81) -written in Indian numbers which Arabs embraced-.
18 = ١٨
81 = ٨١
They equal to 99.
Though, I would say "weird". But I won't use this as an evidence on anything ; I won't judge those who believe it either.
But, the Quran is not meant to be read like that.
