If you want to upset a Christian, just point out that Christianity itself is just itself a failed millenarian cult. IE Jesus was supposed to return within the lifetime of his original disciples.
As is utterly predictable, such cults simply come up with new prophecies each time one fails.
Seventh Day Adventists and Jw's are really good at that. With each of those organistations,'the last days" were considered imminent at the time they were founded.
I highly recommend Kenhelm Burridge's "New Heave New Earth" for a rational examination of millenarian cults.
