I feel like it's a double edged sword. Think about how black people have been entirely pushed out of rock music. On the other hand you great cultural exchanges like Macklemore breaking into the rap industry but respecting the roots of its source. And this is my issue I feel like people don't know the difference between exchange and bastardizing.

I don't understand how a race of people can be pushed out of a genre of music.

Music executives wanting to make something that's easily marketable to a specific demographic.
