We live in the real world, not some idealised State where far-right politics work the way they're intended. The whole reason that the USA is a complete fucking joke is that their far-right have had the better part of two centuries to work out that their policies don't work the way they would like, and regardless they still base their policies on ideology rather than reason and empirical evidence.
I've seen some of the shit (not much because I'm an Aussie) that Cruz and others have said on TV during their debates and other televised spats. If they tried those policies here they'd be fucking mobbed and then laughed out of office. They'd be seen like Pauline Hanson and Jacqui Lambie. If they tried it in Europe then TV wouldn't even give them airtime. Christ how is it that Americans don't know how horrified everyone else in the world is at their politics?

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK
"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
