Nope, I agree  with you completely.  When I'm getting my hair cut, I don't talk at all.  I'm there to get something done so I can get on with my busy day. The less chatter, the faster it goes.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide mankind that cannot be achieved as well or better through secular means.
