Afghan riots over Quran-burning: 2 days, 20 dead

I don't condone burning books of any nature but I am pretty sure if someone burned a bible, in fact I have actually burned one myself it will create a massive riot from the Christians. They would air their disgust or even blame it on the influence of Satan etc. but they wont run rampant around the country killing atheist etc. When I first left the church I took on of my personal bibles and burned it to ashes. It was a private affair and I thought I needed to do it at the time to sort of sever myself from those beliefs and the fear that accompanied my beliefs in God.

I understand, and please dont take this as me being hateful at you. I am merely disagreeing. I have burned bibles and korans as well. I personally dispise burning books, but at the same time this is the 21st century. Who uses books anymore? Everything is on the net.

How is not burning a Koran giving in to terrorist? I don't see the connection. It's not the fact that he burned a Koran it is the fact that he put many peoples lives at risk. I bet if you were a soldier deployed in Afghanistan your opinions would not be so strong against this mans actions. If you were in the thick of it yourself I'm pretty sure you would actually be pissed if you knew that your life was in immediate danger because of the irresponsible actions of an ignorant Christian minister.

I didnt say not burning the koran is giving into terrorists. I said that curbing our freedoms because of their reactions (you said the guy should be jailed) is caving into terrorists. You said we should hand that pastor over to those blood thirsty terrorists as a punishment..that is caving into the terrorists. If I was a soldier I would consider my life in immediate danger every single second over there in the mid east. I would also stand behind this mans first amendment rights that I would be fighting to protect, and that I made an oath to protect as well.

Penalty for burning a Koran: Death!

That isnt how we Americans do it. Over here we have first amendment freedoms. If you were to (hypothetically speaking) try to do any of these things to this pastor I guarentee you would loose in every single court of law.
