Here are some of my thoughts concerning the original topic:
1. What is he really achieving by burning just a single Quran out of all the other millions of Qurans?
2. Even if all the Qurans in the world were burned, or let's say thrown into the Ocean, the same Quran can be reproduced in the next day because there are millions of Muslims who have memorized the entire Quran by heart, and they are called hafiz. There are even 8-year-olds today who have completely memorized the Quran.
"The memorization of the Qur'an was very important to Muslims in the past and is also in the present. Yearly many students master the Qur'an and complete the book with tafseer (understanding) and also memorization. The total number of hafidh and hafidhas currently alive in the world has been estimated in the tens of millions." - Wikipedia
3. I believe that the majority of Muslims in the world are not shocked by this at all, including myself. The media just happens to report on a single country where Muslims are attacking Americans because of the burning. Well, what about the larger population of Muslims in so many other countries? Do you see them rioting about this like some of the Muslims in Afghanistan? No. They are going on with their lives just as usual.
4. I don't think that there is a slightest good that can come out of this action (i.e. burning a Quran). Only creates more problems.
5. I agree with those who said that it's the pastor's fault because he knew that there will be a negative reaction from Muslims if he did such a thing (and especially if he declares it openly).
