What I find most disturbing is the fact that kids today look up to these athletes. They are fucking role models. So what does cheating teach young people who want to make it big in the sports world? It teaches them that you can get away with it the first few times and get a slap on the wrist. So then the kids learn that cheating is okay, as long as you don't get caught OR you have enough bank to pay the fines AND you still get to keep your job.
Not a legacy I want for my kids, honestly. If you can't play by the rules, you shouldn't be allowed to play at all. Period.
