I'm with you Rob. At the center of it all is the mystery of who the hell we are anyhow. It isn't up to us to decide what that will be, we just uncover it a little at a time. Quite likely it is a moving target anyhow. As you say, every so often we find we're working with data that's become outdated. Done correctly it is a humbling experience. Maybe that's why I like Tom Robbins writing so much. Here are a couple more gems from Still Life With Woodpecker:
