I asked around, to see if anyone close to me has noticed any sign of any impending midlife crisis. My mother's quite convinced that my blasphemous heathenism marked the onset of a somewhat early MLC. She's thoroughly confident that I will return to my senses in 5-12 years. 
I just didn't have the heart to tell I'd started breaking up with Jesus years ago.
For now, the idea of me being through with this nonsense someday, seems to give her a great deal of comfort.
I suppose I should let her have that, and leave it alone.
