You get idiots in all camps who want to scrap the system, but have no fucking clue about long term history.
It is simple evolution, that when you stress out enough of a population, and that population, maybe not immediately, but will seek the first opportunity to topple that power. That change can go from a closed society, or to an open society and revolutions in human history have gone BOTH WAYS.
And simply toppling a government doesn't fix things. You create a power vacuum, maybe at first, different groups will stand together to do that, but then once the power is gone, those different groups compete, and there is never a guarantee that your ideas will end up being that dominate power that arises out of the ashes.
Yes politics does SUCK, but what is the solution? A one party fascist state? A dictatorship?
The west isn't perfect, and even in the west we have abuse of power, but at least in the west we have much more control and power as voters. But that only works when WE vote. No, it is not perfect, life is never perfect, and political ideology is bullshit to me, because it does the same thing religion does, it sets up people to chase utopias. But at least with the west you have a more open society where you can make the attempt to change things.
Yes the sausage making sucks, but way better than the politics of Saudi Arabia, North Korea and Cuba.
