I participated in my first ever phone political poll and wanted to share a couple observations:
1. I almost didn't participate, because like most people I'm busy as fuck. It immediately raced through my mind that this may be a very frequent response so I decided to take the 7 minutes.
2. The survey asked who I would vote for assuming Trump and Johnson were in the race, but asked the question three different times to include Sanders, Hillary and Biden. Even though the writing's on the wall I understand Sanders' inclusion with the primary not officially being settled, but I was a little surprised by Biden's inclusion.
I didn't recognize the name of the company conducting the survey and was told they were not allowed to divulge who hired them. The survey also included specific questions asking if I would change my vote if either party included Florida politicians as running mates and several questions on Florida ballot initiatives (solar power and medicinal marijuana questions). I'll have to keep my eyes peeled in the coming days who is using poll results to discern who contracted the poll and for what reason.
There were also questions of how likely I thought FL was going to be hit by a hurricane this year (I just laughed) and how exposed to hurricane effects I was. There was also a general opinion question about my position on trans-gendered people using the bathroom of their choice.
All told, I still think the inclusion of Biden to be the most bizarre part of the survey. Somebody's interested.
