Are you still involved at your church? I know it can be hard to get out of that situation. Congrats on seeing the light. We are a wonderful community full of support if you're having trouble with the transition.
For the past 10 years I've gone to a very tiny church with just a hand full of people, most of whom are family and friends. I have continued to go because my parents go, and I really haven't come completely out of the closet with them yet. The good thing about the church is we do everything an an open forum bible study format, so I'm able to inject ideas into the group that goes against the grain and even raises a little cognitive dissonance.

I can only imagine the turmoil you've experienced in the last year or two.
Actually the turmoil came from faith itself, not losing faith. Since childhood it's been an endless cycle of repenting and failing. It was only a few years ago that I decided that I was going to be totally honest in my beliefs instead of just running on the treadmill of indoctrination. I never thought atheism would be the end result, but here I am. There were some mixed emotions in discovering that it wasn't real, but more positive than negative.

The theists that you interact with, do they know? What are they saying?
A few do, both friends. One seemed intrigued at first, but then decided she didn't want to hear anymore and that we would only talk about superficial subjects or nothing. The other was never very devout and was kind of walking the line between belief and unbelief to begin with. She's been really open to talks and has even watched some atheist/apologist debates with me, but is pretty noncommittal on which side she falls on.
