There simply is no polite way to put it about any of those three religions of Abraham.
Yes you have liberals in all three that don't want to harm others, of any label, for any reason, but that is not the point of why atheists criticize all of them. For all the empathy our liberal theist friends may have, they don't want to face that those same books DO contain violent depictions and justifications for harm of others that the right does use.
But this goes with any religion worldwide too. In all of antiquity no religion had any modern understanding of nature or evolution, and back then, even unfortunately today, humans protect their social norms and protect what is local and mostly what they got sold by their parents.
Drich and Atlas are wrong about the need to cling to those old books. Neither of them promote any evolutionary understanding that we are in reality the same species.
But when you compare Drich's location in the world and that of Atlas, between the two Atlas has far more to fear for daring to be open. Drich by comparison is a fucking crybaby.
There certainly are Christians who are victims in the world. There certainly are Muslims who are victims in the world. But so are Jews and atheists and gays and Buddhists and Hindus, all depending on time and geography.
The unfortunate part that causes all that is for the reasons I stated, it isn't that you can force any religion out of existence. But there needs to be more humans worldwide that have a more global perspective rather than selfish local tribalism.
