The way it appears to me is that voting by conscience could eventually make a difference ....
There are three possibilities:
a) My vote will make no difference ... nothing lost or gained but I have been true to myself, I can feel confident, if either of the two main candidates cause a war or enact some inhuman law, as I didn't contribute to their Power.
b) My vote does make a difference ... because others start voting on their conscience .... A big enough vote could change the main parties positions to try to capture our votes.
c) My vote helps break the status quo .... however unlikely, its is more likely if I vote with my conscience and not just as a technical game .
