The idea of an open relationship was something that used to make me cringe. I'm finding that I'm not getting that kind of emotional reaction when I think about it now. I'm not convinced it's something I would ever actually want though.

I haven't put a lot of though into it over the years. I've severely struggled to get just one person interested enough in me to have a relationship, and I've never had the opportunity to have casual sex. I guess I've always felt it's irrelevant as no one else is going to be interested in me anyway. So due to lack of practical experience, it's hard for me to imagine what an open relationship would actually be like.

At the moment it would be irrelevant, even if I started an open relationship today, I'd still be sitting here on my own each day too tired to do much. I've never been the kind of person who would/could go out looking for casual sex, and it never comes to me, so it's an option that makes no difference. There is one difference though, which is that my wife would kick me out. So I'd actually have less (no) relationships with women. I'm very happy as I am, and we have a wonderful relationship, so it would be insane to do this, even as an experiment. If Emma did suggest it or was up for it, I still don't know if I would do it. I think probably not, at least at the moment.
