One of the things I'm most curious to see is the eventual exit poll numbers concerning self-described conservative Christians who vote for Trump. Sure, they rallied around the three or four water heads who pandered to them during the primary, as one would expect. But the real proof of how desperate they are to cling to their last vestiges of power (not to mention how utterly full of shit they are about promoting their 'Biblical moral' agenda) will be the percentage of them who jump on the Trump bandwagon, even though he demonstrates virtually every day that he's not one of them. Yes, he's already been endorsed by many of the usual suspects among Evangelical and Baptist "leaders", but we all know how slimy and power-hungry those fuckers are. The real test will be how many of the rank-and-file -- you know, the SHEEP -- vote for him.
Maybe . . . just maybe, there might be a distinct split between what the professional Christians (the Falwells and others like him) want and what ordinary folks are willing to put up with. This could be the first chink in the armor of conservative Christian lockstep politics. If this were to lead to a breakdown of the conservative Christian political machine, we could have the impious Orangutan-in-Chief to thank for setting things in motion.
Addressed your own point there. They'll do what they're told.
