It's out of the next news cycle for the most part if they did that. With the exception of RawStory and sites like it that would squeeze everything they could out of it, you wouldn't hear about it again.
Instead, you hear the Trump people blaming Hillary for this, quoting My Little Pony, saying this "common words and phrases" bullshit, and outright denying that anything even happened. And so it remains in the news, because it is comical and just shows once again that Trump and his campaign have no fucking clue what they're doing.
The way they handled this....If I was a Trump.guy - and let's be clear that I'm not - but if I was, I'd find the excuses to be more than a little insulting.
