Come on. You can imagine why he picked that guy, I'm sure. It's because of donations and getting at least some support from the establishment. This, as anything else Trump has said or done, hasn't anything to do with his plans because he simply has no plan, other than riling up his followers. That guy, he hopes, is his money man.
That's not the whole story. Even a megalomaniac like Trump must understand that his only chance of winning is to get the conservative Christians on board in large numbers. Pence is the bone Trump has tossed to the Jesus freaks.
