My grandfather played a lot of ice hockey in his youth and always recommends that people ask for hockey skates instead of the basic, regular ones they give you at most rinks. I don't know if it would do anything to help flat feet, but they are definitely more comfortable and in my opinion, easier to skate with since the blades appear to be shaped differently.

But if Ice skating isn't really for you, then that's cool. Best to stick with what you enjoy.
