The story made me think of religion, the quran, the bible, government, even just general psychology of brainwashing yourself in order to fit in within day to day life, which I think people do all the time.

I don't think anyone really reads random books upon recommendations but I strongly STRONGLY recommend everyone to read this.

Anyone else read it?  What did you think?  I don't know what to read after this, I don't think any other book can match it.

Orwell was not anti government, just against blind worship of anything. You should like "Animal Farm" by him too.

I think the fact that animals are the main characters sort of takes away the seriousness of the story for me and spoils it.
Like if there was a muppets version of shindlers list.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.
