I don't think we're talking about the same thing.  What you're describing -is- an action we use to determine intent.

Fair enough -- speech is an action. It's perhaps a tad more abstract than I had read you, which is why I felt the urge to go into detail. Words not only convey intent, they also can describe intent even when the end result goes awry.

Kinda like hitting your thumb with the hammer, and describing what you were doing nailing in the first place -- to a blind person. Anyway.
