What part of "from which there is no escape" can possibly not be evil?
Good point. If you gather all the verses that apply to hell, there is a good case for a hell in which a person still has the option to choose salvation or reject it. Some after an appropriate time of existence experiencing life without God would cease to exist and some could choose faith and go to eternal life. This has also been accepted view since the early days of the church. It we have a free will now, why take it away later and force us to accept his gift. In my study of the bible, I don't see where God has made a clear statement concerning this except that we do have the option to choose him or reject him.
