To be honest, Krauss' whole point always was that the sum total of the Energy of the universe can be thought of as being zero if you add up the contents and the curvature of spacetime, and could therefore literally originate from a different state of zero energy even without violating conservation of Energy - and giving examples of stuff happening within the universe seems very misleading to me.
