Yes, because saying goodbye to people in case you get banned is exactly what sucking up is.
I did what I did perfectly aware that while it wasn't technically wrong, it might ruffle a few feathers. My current disposition given to kindness has nothing to do with that and is as genuine as you'll ever find.
