This is correct. They make an average of $33k a year. 

That much? My estimate would have been much less. That's quite a tidy sum if you don't have to pay for housing or insurance. I don't know what priests get in my country, but 33 k a year is above the average pay. And it's much above average if you consider all the benefits attached.

Edit: I just looked it up. 22.400 before taxes when they start at their job and up to 36.000 in their career if they aren't promoted anyway. Euros, that is. That's way above average, even for an academic.
