I guess you got that number from the Guardian also. Here are two other numbers surprising me a bit.

But among the 64% of American voters who earn more than $50,000 a year, 49% chose Trump, and 47% Clinton.
So it was the high earners rooting for Trump. Usually it's the lowest segment, being afraid for their jobs, voting for rightwing populists.
Figures. They're the ones that can afford to strip away the social safety net. I wonder if we can just herd the poor into factories, turn them into Soylent green and make money selling them to the catholic church to use as wafers.
