Most of their arguments are based on misinformation and misinterpretation, but since they live in an echo chamber they mistake their delusions for reality. That's really why the left lost. Everyone is sick of the nonsense.
The left took way too much for granted. While they accused Trump of running a divisive campaign, their campaign was no less divisive, pitting men against women, whites against minorities, police against black communities, xenophobia, homophobia, their pompous assed attitudes that only the uneducated didn't agree with them, yada, yada, yada. Where did it get them? They focused too much on the heavily populated counties of each state that had the inner cities and thumbed their noses at the working class in the rural areas. The black vote was down, the latino didn't make up the gap for the low turn out for black voters, they didn't get as much of the women's vote they expected, and their once loyal voting base, the blue collar working class, went for Trump. The Republicans were able to do what seemed impossible, flip blue states that hadn't voted red in 20 - 30 or so years.
