Call the deplorables racists all you want, they're not who the people you're disagreeing with are talking about, that's just the strawman you're erecting so you can feel good about being intolerant of the intolerant, that's harder to do if you acknowledge that you're actually being intolerant of what used to be the Democrat base.

What strawman?  Did a person vote for a racist ideologue with racist campaign promises or didn't they?  They might not be the same class of racist as their more well practiced bigoted brethren...the deplorables, nevertheless.....a vote for trump was an affirmation of racism.

The straw man that the people who are saying that we need to address the economic concerns of people in the Rust Belt are somehow defending racists and racism.
