My dad begrudgingly voted Trump, my mom begrudgingly voted Hillary. My dad still hates racism despite voting for Trump, my mom still hates abortion despite voting for Hillary.
Honestly, my dad is SO anti racism, he calls ME out when I complain about Mexicans driving slow in front of me. I live in a border town with a lot of people driving around with Mexican license plates and they always drive super slow.
As for my mom, I don't remember if it was in this thread or another, but I explained her very personal and very strong feelings against abortion, and her teen pregnancy with my sister.
Anyway, voting for Hillary and for Trump doesn't put them into any sort of box.

"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
