You don't know what is happening in his personal life. He could be a full time carer for his mother or he could have simply fallen on hard times. It can happen to anyone and there's no need to be a dick about it.

I live with my mom atm. I plan to move out. But that's what family is for, lol. I don't see a big deal about it.

I hate the "you live in your parent's basement" slur. Unfortunately I do see that from BOTH the left and right and theist and atheist, economic liberal and economic conservative. 

Nobody should give one flying fuck who pays the bills if they are not living under that roof. Yes, that IS exactly what family is for. And as long as you are not draining anyone, and they can afford it, it is between you and them.
