100% this.
Like I said I work for one of the world's largest companies (PepsiCo or PBV), or rather its distributor in the UK/Ireland. Whilst obviously our performance is driven by the bottom line and a profit to shareholders, actually the company does an awful lot for charity and local communities, not to mention supporting a vast array of local businesses through our supply chain throughout the world.
Legislation in the UK means we are culpable for corrupt/nefarious activities of businesses who we deal with directly and indirectly in our supply chain regardless of where they are in the world (Bribery act 2010), meaning a policy of imposing our own anti-corruption and good working ethics on our entire chain. If any one of our supplies, or indeed their supplier, does something that would get us prosecuted in the UK, then We don't deal with them, meaning we have uniformity as much as possibly of best business practice throughout. Not perfect of course, but certainly stepping in the right direction.
We also do an awful lot of green issues as obviously we use a lot of raw resources, but I don't want to get into everything. Needless to say the description of our company as somehow 'evil' is way wide of the mark, at least in my experience.
